Rayka Blake’s new single "You Made Me Bad" is powerful right from the outset. Hailing from Italy, she’s part of a recent wave of incredible English-language artists emerging from the country.
... a bold, guitar-driven anthem that proves Rayka Blake is ready for a much bigger stage.
As I mentioned, the intro hits like a wall of guitar and drums, instantly pulling you in and making you want to mosh along, no matter where you are. Her vocals are stunning - effortless and captivating from the very first word - while the chorus hints that she’s destined for big things.
There are clear traces of Fleetwood Mac here, blended with the punchier energy of Paramore. It’s hard to pin down exactly what it sounds like, but it feels like a huge track from an artist ready to push beyond the boundaries of her home nation.
I also really enjoy the production and mixing by Pietro Foresti and Luca Urbani - it elevates an already strong track into something even more impactful. This is definitely one I’ll be playing over and over again on road trips.
