James Crowley reveals his strong new EP, "Imprint"

Hailing from London, England, indie-folk singer-songwriter James Crowley has recently delivered his most expansive work yet with the "Imprint" EP.

The four-song strong EP is led by the track "Copilot", which is a very warm offering that reminded me of Ben Howard from the first play, but adds some more scattered beats and more experimental sounds that the likes of Radiohead are very much famous for. What you have here is an absolute kaleidoscope of genres that will just fill your ears up with joy.

... an expansive, warm, and beautifully crafted EP blending Ben Howard-style indie folk with experimental, haunting soundscapes.

The lead single follows next, and this is more of a dreamier affair, focusing highly on James's stunning vocal tones and the warm guitar sounds that he has been made famous for within the London scene. For me, even on the first play, I knew that this would be the strongest track on the EP, as it just sounds absolutely stunning and beautiful.

Bringing up the final half of the EP is the track "I Wish I Could Just Do Something". This is a darker song with a hint of symphonic tones and a soundscape that feels almost haunting. Perfect, if you ask me, for the time of year when the nights are rolling in early and you just want to put on a moody track to connect with the earth again.

The last song is the shortest on the release, but is more in line with the sounds that his fans would know him for: very serene vocals with intimate arrangements and a soft sound that sounds like he is edging himself towards stardom

I would say the EP is a very solid 9/10. I honestly can't think of anything he can improve on this, and this is certainly going to open some doors for James if he keeps on making tracks such as this.
