"The Fountain" is the new single from James Lloyd Smith, and he has really landed on a stunner here with the sounds that are on the track. The new single is his third of the year and is a delightful example of his sound, with some whimsical strings added into the mix and his overall folky undertone that really hits home.
... a warm, comforting blend of folk tones, whimsical strings, and lo-fi bedroom pop made for cozy autumn evenings.
For me, it's one of those songs that can help you get all nice and cosy on a dreary September evening. The delicate mix of his folk tones and some bedroom pop-style lo-fi sounds is a wonderful blend. It's cinematic and is grounded with some lovely soaring moments that will send you straight back down to earth.
It's a really fun track to listen to, and when the piano section comes in, I just felt like the clouds had parted and the sun was beaming down on me. It's a fantastic new single and one that I have certainly listened to a few times since originally laying my ears upon it.
