A new Vampire Weekend album could be released this year, the Brooklyn band has said. Frontman Ezra Koenig told Rolling Stone that the band "have a ton of stuff" already for the follow up to 2010's 'Contra', and that a new album may be released in 2012.
He went on to say "It would be cool if it was this year. I always want to release music as soon as possible". Vampire Weekend are set to play their first live date in almost a year at the Pitchfork Music festival in July. As yet there are no dates set for the UK.
