Editors share new track "The Sting"

Editors release their first new music in four years with the single, ‘A Ton Of Love’ on 17th June. Taken from their fourth studio album, ‘The Weight Of Your Love’, which follows on July 1st, the track has already been praised by Q as a ‘soaring, Bunnymen influenced anthem’ whilst Fake DIY stated ‘this is the biggest and fullest Editors have sounded and opens up a world of possibilities for their forthcoming album’. The single premiered on Zane Lowe’s Radio One show as his Hottest Record In The World on Monday 6th May and was immediately a hit with his listeners, gaining a second play that night.

‘A Ton Of Love’ represents the first fruits of a new direction for the band following their parting with founding member, guitarist Chris Urbanowicz. Recorded along with the rest of ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ in Nashville with producer Jacquire King, known for his work with Tom Waits, Of Monsters And Men and Kings Of Leon amongst others. Recorded at Blackbird Studio, the band drew on their love of the likes of REM, Springsteen and numerous classic rock records, the album sees Editors return to a guitar fronted sound following their experimentation with electronic and synthesised sounds on 2009’s UK Number One ‘In This Light And On This Evening’.

‘A Ton Of Love’ is released on 7” by Play It Again Sam on June 17th. Both 7” and bundle feature live favourite ‘The Sting’, and the album’s lead track, ‘The Weight’ features on the digital bundle. Formats are:
7” – ‘A Ton Of Love’ / ‘The Sting’
Bundle – ‘A Ton Of Love’ / ‘The Weight’ / ‘The Sting’

Editors return to UK live arena on Sunday 30th June when they play The Second Stage at Glastonbury 2013. The band also visit T In The Park and Reading and Leeds Festivals over the summer.
