With ever expanding opportunities for procrastination (who needs a university degree anyway?), I found myself revisiting old favourites on YouTube. After swiftly moving my way through football’s greatest mistakes, I found myself reconnecting with a 14-month old gem by the superb BBTS. And frankly I was surprised by its low number of hits, so here I am introducing you to something special (because apparently no one knows about them – if you do, well done).
Bareback Titty Squad (read whatever you wish from the name) are a full of life trio from Melbourne, Australia who specialise in Live Mash Up music. From their name, and probably their choice of underwear too, you wouldn’t think they’re a serious production outfit; however, what you wouldn’t guess is that they create rousing live mash ups, taking on popular music across all genres. Last year, BBTS reached global attention by mashing up every song from the Triple J Hottest 100 (2012) list and publishing it on the web. Here’s the result.
Following this success and following some financial reinvestment they turned their attention to the ever-expanding and lucrative world of EDM in March, and stirred up out what was to become the ‘World’s first ever live instrumental DJ set’. Check it out here.
