Common Tongues release new single 'It Doesn't Last Forever'

We couldn't quite nail down a catch-all term to define 'It Doesn't Last Forever', the latest output from Common Tongues. Not quite abrasive enough to be termed 'rock', not quite downbeat enough to be considered 'ambient' but too interesting not to give it at least two listens.

They lyricism is pristine, with intelligent imagery in the verses giving way to sing along chorus. Many bands trying to achieve what Common Tongues have achieved here often fall into the trap of creating boring music, not so for Common Tongues.

The track develops nicely, the final quarter or so of music is unexpected. This is a wonderful example of concise song writing, we look forward to hearing more.

Catch them at The Great Escape:

Friday 20th May, The Dorset at 10pm
Saturday 21st May, East Street Tap, 12pm
Saturday 21st May, Marwood's Cafe, 5.45pm
