London-based singer/songwriter Bellah has delivered the sweet and soulful sounds of her fresh RnB production, ‘Never Loved’, in an ode to break-up frustrations.
Fusing influences of avant-garde Jazz and gospel into her sound, single ‘Never Loved’ is taken from Bellah’s forthcoming EP. Hopes are high for the fast-rising talent, with the single showcasing the best of the UK artist’s dynamic vocal range, and cleverly crafted melodies.
‘I was really angry about how my last relationship ended,” explains Bellah, who was recently playlisted by BBC Radio 1Xtra. “I tried writing diary entries, but it got me even more frustrated because I needed an outlet that wasn't so exclusive.”
Bellah made the decision to focus on her own music at the age of 17 and has continued to grow from strength to strength recently achieving widespread support on Capital Xtra and BBC R1Xtra for her work on ‘Purpose’ by Ulteria, as well as featuring on Courage’s ‘Long Way Up.’
With her ideas, concepts and lyrics acknowledged by the likes of Conducta, Liv Dawson and Lauren Murray, who have all enlisted Bellah’s talents to work on their respective projects, the silky songstress refreshing sound undeniably strikes a note with listeners for her voice that allows both the vulnerability and strength it possesses to continue her meteoric ascent.
Allowing her genre-crossing sounds to mingle, Bellah has constructed something that is both furiously innovative and unrelentingly immediate. Her love for writing, roots, pains and passions spill into every record, with ‘Never Loved’ set for release on February 14th.
