Montrell unveils captivating visuals for, "Aqua"

Montrell are an outfit based out of London and Leicester and have recently unveiled captivating visuals for their track "Aqua". The track is lifted from their 2019 EP "Lemon", since then they've gone on to release a further two more tunes with an EP pencilled in for release in the summer of 2020 (so right about now).

The band was the idea of Jonny P Taylor, after listening to George Harrison and Paul Simon, while he lay in hospital after a major motorcycle accident. His friends Alex (drums), Sam (bass) and Mikey (guitar) came in at different times to help arrange the songs with him, and helped to keep Jonny sane and the band formed from there.

The track itself has psychedelic and indie-pop influences with huge nods towards Australian bands such as Tame Impala and Last Dinosaurs. The video has a soft pallet with the colours resembling a low budget movie from the late 80's, the scenes with water remind us big time of the cover of Nirvana's "Nevermind" album cover - I wonder why.

The track however is chilled out and while you're watching the visuals it only enhances the track even further.

"Aqua" is a perfectly laid back affair with shimmering synths, smooth basslines with equally smooth vocals caressing the gentle guitar lines that have been laid down. The woozy track is one we've listened to on repeat a fair few times, there's something here that we love and we think you'll end up loving too!

The official music video for the song "Aqua" directed by the duo Boyter and Pope with some production design from Celina Bassili - who has worked on multiple Guy Ritchie films - so no wonder it's cinematic! The band are surely going to be a hotly tipped artist if they keep on producing amazing songs such as this, so go follow them on the socials and give them some love!
