Jared Harper releases first single since 2018, "If I Can't Have You"

At the tail end of 2021 San Francisco based Jared Harper released his track "If I Can't Have You", which was the first piece of new work from the singer-songwriter in over two years.

Jared first broke onto the scene with a duo of singles leading up to his debut EP, "If I'm Being Honest", back in 2018. Since then he's gone getting some serious attention thanks to Harper performing on the American version of The Voice.

From the start of the track, you're welcomed into Jared's world with his soft vocals and smooth licks of acoustic guitars, setting the tone for the rest of the track.

There's some British influence in his influences, with Oasis and The Beatles' Lennon and McCartney all giving him a solid base for his songwriting, which in turn has given him a sound that can be compared next to the laid back tones of a mid 10's Alex Turner mixed with the pop stylings of Ed Sheeran thrown in for good measure.

With some praise from none other than John Legend it honestly sounds like Jared is setting his sights high, and after this latest effort I can easily hear why too! The track is bright and can easily shine on your darkest days to give your ears something to fall in love with.

It's clear to see he just hasn't got sheer vocal talent but is also a genius wordsmith who knows how to pen a track laced with emotions that'll draw you in. We've got wind of new music coming in 2021 and with the year already underway it shouldn't be too long now, so be sure to follow him on the socials and especially Spotify so you keep up to date with all of his new tunes.
