Leeds outfit Slowride has returned today with an addictive new cut, "Forever In My Head", which follows on from their debut effort "I Feel Like You" and sounds like the next step for the trio. The trio's new song sounds like the perfect blend of Dan Croll's indie-pop stylings with much more bass and atmosphere.
It's got plenty of atmosphere, so much that it can rival Twenty One Pilots on that front!
It really seems like the three gents sat down and thought about this song in-depth, as you can really hear all of the elements shining through. With it coming in at just over three minutes the track goes straight into it without holding back - perfectly reverbed guitars laced with haunting backing melodies giving the track a dark taint to it.
What the band has done basically is craft a track that's got plenty of atmosphere, so much that it can rival Twenty One Pilots on that front! Having worked with Greenmount (Easy Life, Ellie Goulding, The Cribs) and Isaac Carpenter (Awolnation), it has meant that they've had some slight direction with what to do, but you always need that otherwise, you'd go round in circles.
As the band has worked with the aforementioned studio and musician it really seems like the band is on an upward trajectory, roll in the fact they're from a city that has a live scene constantly changing the face of music and we're really onto a winner here!
