Hailing from Hemel Hempstead in the heartlands of England we've got Low Girl and their fantastic new single, "So Cool".
The track comes off the back of a sensational 2021 which saw them release their debut EP to wide acclaim, finding their way onto Spotify Editorial playlists, BBC Radio 1 and Radio X amongst others.
"So Cool" has a blend of a few genres here, combining smooth vocals laced on shimmering synths giving the listener something to fall in love with right from the outset. The chorus reminds me of early 90's alt-pop playing at the tail end of the day, as here too there's slight darkness to it with the guitar elements having a jangly and hypnotic effect.
The new single is the first of 2022 from the band and gives you a massive taste of what will be coming in their sophomore EP, due for release in March. They're due to play SXSW this year and will also be taking the EP on the road around the release date, so if they're playing near your head on down to listen live and watch one of the rising Art-Pop bands in the UK.
