"Kids Don't Buy Groceries" is a blend of pure Punk mixed in with spoken word - he's taken punk and managed to find a sub-genre to call his own.
"Kids Don't Buy Groceries" is a blend of pure Punk mixed in with spoken word wonder, the crunching guitars and bass tones are a real contrast to the vocals. It's a very well written track, giving the listener plenty of chances to create visuals in their head.
I have to admit, we flipping love the deep guitars dotted around the choruses and the skittish drums at the end of said choruses. The track is just a smidge over two minutes long, and before you know it the tune has finished. If there was a long version of this we'd be spinning it all day long!
Speaking about the song Hyattsvillain mentions - "We were in the grocery store and this obese woman was carting around an obese toddler and filling the cart with soda’s, cookies, and the most unhealthy food in the whole place. We didn’t say anything in the moment so we wrote this song to lash out."
What Hyattsvillain has done is taken punk and managed to find a sub-genre to call his own, so be sure to follow them if you're into thrilling punk-rock!
