Opal Skies return with new single, "Take My Hand"

Opal Skies return with their new single, "Take My Hand", not long after their stunning track "Parasite" came out they're back with even more lush noises for your ears.

The new cut is an epic one, sitting in at just shy of eight minutes long it's comparable to that of Foals' track "Neptune", as this too takes you on a tremendous sonic ride into their world.

The intro to the song reminds me of those big prog-rock tracks of the late 60s and early 70s - a bit Genesis in places. Once the track gets going it's a cathedral of huge sounds, big bass adorns the track with some soaring guitar tones and vocals that will turn any casual listener into a superfan in no time.

Lead singer Will Sharp says: "I  wrote the lyrics for "Take My Hand" in a dimly lit room and really looking inwardly at my own anxiety around global warming. I started to have images and visions in my mind and I felt as though I was in a kind of meditative state, just watching this scene unfold. It felt like quite a spiritual experience and I got quite emotional after it. This song is really special to me because it's a raw expression of how I felt in that moment."

Since the band has launched they've generated a substantial amount of hype, with their loyal fanbase loving everything they've released so far it's echoed back to the band and now they're reaching for the stadiums it feels.

The new cut is an epic one, sitting in at just shy of eight minutes long it's comparable to that of Foals' track "Neptune", as this too takes you on a tremendous sonic ride into their world. If their previous track was the band emerging this is the band at their very best, and with this song now out we feel like it'll only help them in their push to be one of the next big guitar bands to emerge from the UK.
