Disco Lizards today have revealed their brand new single, "Slow", which acts as their first slice of new music since 2020's "Ride Ride Ride".
The band Disco Lizards started out as a solo project by Matt Stolworthy (who you can hear on vocals), and has since blossomed into a collaborative project where he invites like-minded individuals to help him bring his ideas to life.
"Slow" is a perfect balance of washed-out tones and psychedelic nods, with enough grunge elements to keep anyone hooked.
As soon as "Slow" gets going it's a psychedelic whirlwind of noises, with the washed-out guitar tones being the highlight of it all. The first is the first taste of what's to come from their upcoming EP, which has us now getting rather excited about what else will be on the release.
"Slow" is one of those tracks that has a perfect balance of washed-out tones and psychedelic nods, with enough grunge elements to keep anyone hooked. There are elements that remind us of peak indie-rock during the late 2000s mixed with some Britpop stylings and of course some nods perhaps to The Flaming Lips.
Speaking about the song the London quintet said - "We spent the majority of the pandemic writing and from that have created our new EP". The band also has an EP launch today at Sebright Arms in London, so if you're free and you like the sound of them head on down!
