Hazel launches with dreamy debut single, "Scream"

New to the London music scene is singer-songwriter Hazel and she has launched off with a fantastic and dreamy debut single, "Scream". Since the release of the single she's got off the ground with some good traction on Spotify getting past that 1k play mark in a matter of days.

For a debut track "Scream" is one of those that'll stick with you for a while, it's a diverse dark-pop track bringing together elements from RnB, Acoustic pop and dream-pop together - a true blend.

Speaking about her debut single Hazel mentions - "It’s a song that underlines the sadness and desperation that comes with feeling lonely, left out, unheard and misunderstood by the people around you. It’s for all of us who suffer the consequences of having too many people around, yet not being heard."

The intro to the song has a funky alt-pop vibe with a dark undertone once her fantastic vocals come in backed up with thick bass and keys. The best thing about this intro is that it sets the tone for the rest of the track and isn't too weird or experimental that it puts you off, like so many tracks I hear.

The song really gets into the stride of things in the chorus where it seemingly evolves into a dark-pop track that can rival the likes of Billie Eilish and Banks. The addition of acoustic guitars in the breakdown backed up with haunting melodies is borderline sensational, it's that point we knew we'd be playing this a lot in the office!
