Oliver Pinder reveals soulful new offering, "Beautiful Second"

Hailing from Wakefield in the UK is singer-songwriter Oliver Pinder, and recently he has revealed his stunning and soulful new offering,  "Beautiful Second". The single leads on from the success of his previous single, "Stressed", which got over 50,000 streams on Spotify alone.

Much like the single before it "Beautiful Second" is just simplistically stunning. There's not too much in the way of layered instruments going on and it's more raw and emotive than anything else.

angelic levels of beauty

Opening up the song is a clean piano with atmospheric tones interwoven with Oliver's soulful vocals. As the track progresses more strings are added to boost it to angelic levels of beauty, and when the track drops around the 80 second mark we instantly knew then we was going to fall in love with it.

Speaking about the song Oliver mentions - " ... "Beautiful Second" was written about 3 years ago. It is about relationships that you know have an expiration date attached to them, you’re holding onto something good when you know they don’t feel the same way. I remember writing it on this old upright piano I had bought from Gumtree for 50 quid. A couple had owned it and kept it next to their Guinee pigs so it always smelt like sawdust. I’d never had it tuned so it always sat a half tone out, and that’s how the song stayed so I always have to transpose my keyboard down now just because that’s where it feels comfortable"

"Beautiful Second" is absolutely stunning and is a great example of emotive indie-pop with organic instrumentation. You need to delve into his music as it's just so worth your time, and with an EP on the way he could break out of the national scene and beyond!
