Today marks the day that Rosanna has shared her dreamy new tune, "Need You to Stay". The new single is just her second-ever release, but if you listen to this without knowing that you'd have easily of thought she's touring the world already.
Dream-pop sounds infused with retro tones lifted from the 1980s
The track is a moody cut with her vocals acting as the main focal point of the song, swooning along and convincing you easily to stay listening. Once the off-kilter electro-pop intro merges into the chorus you're greeted with some bright synths that sounds like they've been lifted from a 1980s synth-pop classic.
Rosanna says - "The song first came to me when I was feeling vulnerable, getting back together with an ex – and really wanting it to work out. But ultimately, for me it’s a happy song, it’s about knowing when a love is special, and should be fought for."
"Need You to Stay" is backed up with "What It takes to Leave" as the B-side (her debut single), so if you're pining for more leave the track playing and head into it!
