Since bursting onto the scene in early 2021 with the demo track "Homegrown" it's been a solid rise for the London-based artist. Keeper's new single "BETTER OFF" is a great example of a hyper-pop track that blends in harder rock tones and a drumbeat that rappers would love to drop bars on.
... this song is a prime example of what Keeper is all about, hyper-pop with punk roots.
Speaking about the song Keeper mentions - "It's a song about learning to pick myself up again. In the most pop-punk of fashion, having friends and family that help to get me through the slog, and through that self-hating-brain-cloud I know so many of us go through."
With influences taken from the likes of Enter Shikari you can really hear that this sub-genre of music is what he loves the most. Vocally it's perfect for a sing-along and with danceable drum-beats I'm sure it would be a solid track at his live shows.
Now with love laid into him by BBC Introducing already it seems that he is going from strength to strength with every release, and this song is a prime example of what Keeper is all about, hyper-pop with punk roots.
