Route 500 yesterday dropped their stunning new single, "Island Perimeter", which comes in a long line of single releases stretching back to late 2020. If that stat doesn't sound like much it's because he has released 12 singles in that time with his track "I'll Play You Out" getting well over 600k plays on Spotify alone.
A stunning example of dark and lo-fi folk music.
The act is comprised of Derek Inver who hails from Brighton, UK and his vocal tones alone can carry any project. The single in question is a beautiful slice of lo-fi sounds mixed with just a sprinkling of dark tones laced upon folk-driven guitars.
Having supported the fantastic Squirrel Flower and Hannah Georgas this song sounds like yet another step in the right direction for one of the UK's rising folk singers - if the Cambridge Folk Festival doesn't book him for 2024 we will riot!
