Hailing from Brooklyn, NY is Cowboy Clean and not too long ago they unveiled their retro-tinted debut cut "Charcoal". Cowboy Clean is a solo project of Matt Leibowitz who's a multi-instrumentalist which makes this new project one of the purest solo projects going.
Dreamy, nostalgic, and incredibly warm - a real treat for your ears.
Right from the get-go you're welcomed in with a drum-machine beat with a guitar sound that reminds us a lot of The Police, and indeed that's where I feel the influence coming from as the whole track has this warm guitar flowing throughout, giving me a big 1980s rock feel.
Vocally it's as dreamy as anything else from the 80s, the addition of synths part-way through the track only enhances the experience, and as I'm sitting here in Europe on vacation looking out at the cold I have to admit this helped my mood go up a few notches.
