Following on from his release of demos and snippets is Kean Lane with his first proper single since 2023's "Sandy Eyes". "did i tell you" kicks off with this very 80s sound of electronically-charged beats, a jangly drumbeat and smooth synth tones.
A very morish track!
Even though there's a smattering of electronic sounds it still manages to sound very organic, and with his soft vocal tones it all balances off well with one another. The jangly guitars heard in the song, for me at least, is a welcome addition that gives the track more depth and atmosphere. Speaking of the track Kean mentions "It’s all about a deep, nostalgic love, that represents how quickly time passes."
Even though the track is filled with dreamy sounds the pacing of it all still gives you plenty of opportunities to tap along to it, giving you that moreish beat that'll have you heading into his previous releases as soon as "did I tell you" finishes.
