Chris Quesnel just a few days ago revealed his debut single, "Cherry Chapstick", and if there's one type of release we absolutely love here it's a debut! The sheer blank canvas for an artist to burst onto a music scene with is one of the best things ever, and this cut from the Montreal-based singer-songwriter will go a long way in getting him plenty of fans.
Imagine if a label backs Chris, the places he could go!
"Cherry Chapstick" is a quintessentially alternative track with plenty of energetic moments that help convey to the listeners that this man means business. The way it opens up with the charming guitar before the infectious vocal tone rolls over really won us over.
The drive of the track is brilliant, and it honestly feels like listening to a band you are familiar with as it's so well produced. The cut was recorded in his parents' basement, and with that in mind, you can't help but appreciate it even more. Imagine if a label backs this man; the places he could go!
