Coming out of the scene in San Franciso the the amazing Sophia St. Helen with her new single, "Time Has Changed Me". Teh new cut is her second of the year and if I'm being honest, it kicks off with a bang. The strong guitar that opens it up is incredibly warming and reminds me of early 90s grunge sounds mixed with the noises that The Smashing Pumpkins are known for.
A brilliantly nostalgic song with powerful vocals.
As good as that bold intro was the mood is taken down a notch and it's less angsty and more sombre with vocal tones that'll convert you into a fan within moments. Sophia's tones here are sensational and remind me a lot of the early work of Florence Welch and even moments that remind me of Kacey Musgraves.
Indeed, comparing Sophia to two great vocalists may seem overkill to some, but for me, I was so blown away that I feel like she is destined for greatness.
