London quartet Venice Heath are back with their dreamy new single, "Why Always On My Mind", and this cut feels like it was written to bring in a whole new batch of listeners.Speaking about the track the band says "It's about love, friendship, connection all while bringing back melancholy memories to fantasise on the what-ifs."
A wonderful slice of nostalgia, mixed with modern tones.
The track is the first slice of new music since their "Summernight" EP came out in 2023, and it's also the first taste of what's to come on their 2025 EP, "Secretdream". The sounds on offer are rather similar to that of their previous EP, there are plenty of dreamy vocal sounds flowing off one another with a slightly angular guitar tone echoing away.
"Why Always On My Mind" reminds me of several bands I listened to when I was growing up, from the likes of The Police to The Maccabees and Swim Deep. The sounds they have on this new single is by far my favourite they've released to date, and the chorus is possibly the most sensational thing on the single.
