Now based in Adelaide in Australia, is former Bristol rocker Andy Smith, and just a few days ago saw the singer-songwriter drop his epic new rock tune, "LTT".
... a swaggering Britpop-fuelled garage-rock belter channelling Kasabian and Blur with irresistible, playlist-ready punch.
There are some huge Britpop sounds on this, as that's kind of expected considering the scene he was a aprt of back in the UK, but what he has done here is give it extra oomph and power. His vocals remind me a lot of Kasabian in places mixed in with the gritty power of Blur, and even that main guitar gave me big Graham Coxon vibes.
For me it has to be that underlying garage-rock theme, the swagger, the drive, the backing vocals around the 2:40 mark – man, it's got it all. "LTT" to me feels like it's both in the present and the past, with vinyl scratches to a mix that's flawlessly showing off his talent. You NEED this in your playlists as soon as possible.
Be sure to stay for the B-side tune, it shows off more of a jangly sound with some dark tones too.
