Detroit-based Valaura plant their flag in the bold and dark hard-rock genre with their mighty new cut, "Hallowed Ground". From teh get-go, you're greeted with a moody vocal tone and a guitar that sounds oddly like a sound you'd hear in a Red Hot Chilli Peppers song.
... a dark, bold hard-rock cut with soaring vocals, experimental edges, and a moody intensity that marks a thrilling new chapter for the band.
What I loved was when the track got to the chorus, it came as a hit, with emotive vocals soaring above it all, hoping to grip any new listeners and not let go. It's not necessarily a hard-rock cut, but with some dark elements (as mentioned) with a slightly experimental edge that sets it apart from others within it's respected genres.
"Hallowed Ground" marks a somewhat heavier turn for the band, signalling a bold new chapter in Valaura's journey. So if you like what you hear, strap on in, more is coming!
