Having spent the past three years steadily releasing her music, Portland's Rosie Haze has recently returned with her stunning new single, "Fresh Flowers".
... a haunting, home-recorded alt-indie gem channelling Radiohead vibes with the emotional depth of Phoebe Bridgers and The Big Moon.
Since the release of this track, she's gone on to release another, but we're going to focus on this stunner of a track first. "Fresh Flowers" reminds me a lot of Radiohead and that whole alt-indie/rock scene, with some hauntingly beautiful melodic moments, thanks to her vocal tones. Instrumentally, the quirky guitar really took me back a few years, with the sounds on offer giving anyone who likes the more laid-back realm of indie-rock a dose of what they are after.
It's such a deep track that is all inspired by personal growth following a difficult relationship. With sounds that fans of The Big Moon and Phoebe Bridgers would like we feel like she won't be just known in her scene for much longer.
All recorded at home too. This is a big testament to Rosie's talent!
