Hailing from Newcastle in Australia, Amy Vee is back with a new single, "Better Still". The track is one of those clear-cut, dreamy pop songs with hints of softer, guitar-based styles like folk and soft rock, yet it still manages to completely capture your ears.
... a dreamy, slow-burning pop track that builds into something quietly magical.
I especially love the quirky, clumped bass tones in the background, gently bubbling away throughout. Her vocals are striking, too, with plenty of layered textures that bring them right to the forefront. One thing I really enjoyed was how the intro starts off rather simplistic, but as the track progresses, it builds and builds until those layers come together in a magical moment when the chorus hits.
Towards the end of the song, a highlight for me is the almost scratching violin sound. As it fades away, I’m left with the urge to hit replay—and I did!
