Hailing from Tarnów, Poland, By Million Wires deliver a deeply reflective and atmospheric experience with their latest EP, "Not Over".
The opening track on the EP is titled "Over", and it is a five-minute epic filled with moody vocals and slightly jangly guitars, offset by a dark and brooding bass line. One thing I did appreciate with this track was how it exploded within the last minute, giving you a bit of an introduction to the EP.
... An immersive and atmospheric EP that rewards listeners with every return journey.
The next couple of tracks are titled "Glass Houses" and "I Know Better". "Glass Houses" comes first and is a solid post-rock track with some cinematic textures, giving you more insight into their sound. The next track is "I Know Better", and this acts as the midway point of the EP. Released earlier this year, this single is the band's best-performing track to date and is a swirling alt-rock piece that reminds me of Radiohead in the 2000s, mixed with some sonic sounds that reminded me of some awesome bands from my hometown in the UK.
The final two tracks are "Lost Our Way" and "Run Away". "Lost Our Way" sounds like the track they would use if they wanted to do a campaign on the radio. It's very welcoming and very open to fans of other genres, as it's not too abrasive on the ears, and it's a pretty strong song that can act as a gateway, if you will, to their stories and their sound. The final track is a delightfully upbeat piece with high-toned guitar lines adorning it. Once again, the track finishes with an incredibly strong final minute. Once this song is over, you'll be heading straight back to the first track on this EP and giving it one more play.
Considering this band is from a city in southern Poland, they really have gone and done amazing work with this EP. Hopefully, this will give the band the recognition they truly deserve.
