Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, Moon Construction Kit is back with a beautifully crafted slice of dream-pop nostalgia. "Down the West Coast" is the latest song to be released from the Swiss act and is the second release of the year, following the song "Snake Charmer".
... Moon Construction Kit blends dream pop and 1960s-inspired psychedelia into a timeless, nostalgic yet fresh sonic journey.
As mentioned, it is a very dream-pop-centric track, but with a solid amount of psychedelic vocal effects layered upon some rather folky underpinnings that really help to bring the track to life.
With some acoustic guitars mixed in along with some 1960s pop sounds, this is a track which seems to transcend the last 60 years of music culture all within its four-and-a-half-minute runtime. It feels fresh as anything else being made and yet has this sense that it could have easily been written and recorded during the 1960s.
With another 10 tracks also on their Spotify page, this track could easily be the gateway for you into their whole sound. If you like this, then be sure to check the rest out as well.
