Antoin Gibson delivers a cinematic EP, "The Rise and Fall of Eternity"

London-based artist Antoin Gibson is here with her stunning new EP, "The Rise and Fall of Eternity". Coming in at 5 tracks long, the release is our first EP release of the year. And the opening track, titled "Introduction to the Unexplained", is a soaring example of her dark pop sound mixed with angsty vocals and industrial electronics. It's also got that subtle hint of hip-hop about it, which really helps to bring together the dark sounds.

... Antoin Gibson crafts a cinematic, genre-bending EP blending dark pop, industrial electronics, and hypnotic hip-hop beats.

The following track is titled "Pandora's Paradox" and reminds me a lot of Grimes, with how ethereal her vocal tones are and also how clean the production is on this. The middle of the EP is dominated by "Dystopian Empress." It's a very well-produced track that focuses a lot on her astonishing vocal tones, with minimal instrumentation showing off her vocals perfectly.

The final two tracks of the EP are titled "Mirrors Behind the Smoke" and "Fortune Favours the Timeless." The former is a very experimental track that has a lot of unique sounds to it, even by her standards, with some awesome hip-hop-styled beats driving the track forwards. It finishes off with an eargasmic collection of sounds. And, of course, the final track of the EP is the most cinematic of the bunch, showcasing that she is not just a fast-paced electronic artist that likes to dabble in the hip-hop genre. She is also the kind of artist that will be able to captivate anybody who listens to her, with soaring vocals flowing seamlessly into a cinematic track, which I could easily see being used in blockbuster movies.

If you're a fan of expansive electronic music that dips its toe into dark pop and even hip-hop, then this is certainly the kind of EP you need to get stuck into. 8.5 out of 10.
