Sandy Kilpatrick delivers his stunning new single, "The Hunter's Moon"

The Glasgow-born singer-songwriter Sandy Kilpatrick released his new track "The Hunter's Moon" in late October, but since then we have been really getting into it.

The opening sequence of piano tones took me back to the late 2000s, with plenty of acts around those times leading me towards that instrument. As soon as his vocals came in, I was blown away. They intertwine seamlessly with the banjo chords, and I feel like the song is already anchored into my soul, with the cinematic backing helping me feel it even on the first play.

... a cinematic and soul-anchoring alt-folk release that masterfully weaves piano, banjo, and warm vocal depth.

It's a very soft four-piece sound that affirms his place as one of Scotland's rising alt-folk storytellers. With music stretching back as far as 2012, if you like what you hear, then there is plenty more music where that came from.

It's perfect for meditating to, and it was written during a thunderstorm when he was in Portugal, so you can certainly hear that warm and intimate feel flowing throughout the song. The thing that sealed the deal for me was the backing vocals. They help to bring in an extra layer and give it plenty of depth. If you like your cinematic alt-folk music, then be sure to listen to "The Hunter's Moon".
