Danny Suede shares the sun-kissed new tune, "shadows on the pavement"

Bursting out from Spokane, United States, is Danny Suede, who has recently released his new track titled "shadows on the pavement". The new offering from the American singer-songwriter has already shot to the top of his most popular songs on Spotify, and I can easily tell why from the very first minute. ... a shimmering, uplifting slice of bedroom pop that feels made for sunny days. The opening sequence of the song is a delicate balance of acoustic guitar mixed with his serene vocals and a dash of electronic pulses just to get you all warmed up. For me, the fusion of bedroom pop and alternative pop sounds reminded me of an early Ed Sheeran as he was about to take over the British music scene. Based out of Nottingham in England is five-piece Spiral Orbit recently revealed their strong new track titled "Isolation Zone". The new cut from the band is their second of the year, and the intro alone was enough for me to give the song a chance, as it reminds me a lot of New Order and The Killers, especially when the synths come in after a few seconds. ... a synth-charged, '80s-inspired rock anthem that turns pandemic uncertainty into an uplifting, high-energy payoff. With the aforementioned similarities to New Order, this track really does have a big late '80s synth-rock feel to it, with the vocal hooks also sounding like they have been cherry-picked from that era. Add in some more '70s glam rock-sounding synths and what you have here is a track that is incredibly nostalgic and yet feels as fresh as anything else out in the world right now. Coming out of Ypsilanti, Michigan, is the alternative rock outfit TV Blackout. The band's new single is titled "Eyes Burn Red", and this is the lead single off their debut album titled "Loss of Control". ... a thrilling, gritty opener packing '90s grunge guitars, punchy post-punk drive, and the brooding swagger of Fontaines D.C. It is quite the opening track for an album, as it kicks off with a rush of '90s indie rock guitars mixed with some punchy drum beats and a tone that reminds me of the early days of the post-punk revival scene in the UK. The intro is less than 30 seconds long, but it certainly got me hooked from the first play. As soon as the vocals started, I knew that I would be investing a lot of time in them. This band was one of those acts that were emerging during the mid-'90s, so the fact that this song has massive Britpop nostalgia about it makes complete sense. ... a dark, Prodigy-tinted remix that breathes thrilling new modern life into a 34-year-old Britpop gem. This was originally a B-side on one of their 1992 singles and has since been remixed by producer Harry Kook to be given a new lease of life. It's got that dirty undertone with plenty of dark moods flowing about it that reminds me somewhat of The Prodigy. What I find remarkable here is that a band with a song that is 34 years old has had it reimagined for modern times. It sounds perfectly in place with anything that was happening in the '90s and everything that's happening now in 2026.
