Leeds, England trio Moose Wrench return with their new single, "Dead Stars". The single is a re-recording of their 2021 single and features very much the same vocal structure as its predecessor. However, this time around, the track sounds far more psychedelic and noisy. ... a mind-bending alt-rock explosion where psychedelic chaos, heavy riffs and indie energy collide. I personally loved those deep and brooding vocals on the track, but my real love came from the guitar riffs that are layered within the song. It's got this fusion of sounds that range from alt-rock to math-rock, prog, punk and, obviously, psychedelic, with them all coming together in one absolute eargasm of noise. Ben Heyworth yesterday shared his first single of the year, "Image of Roads (Montana Mix)" is that track, and it also acts as just his fourth-ever solo cut, but when you hear it you may be forgiven in thinking that he's already toured the UK. ... a soulful, swagger-filled alt-rock track with Britrock grit, anthemic hooks, and a killer guitar solo that belies his early solo discography. The new cut from the Manchester songwriter is a smooth blend of some soulful guitars, 90s alt-rock with a swagger-filled vocal tone that can easily grip you from the first line. It's quite anthemic and atmospheric in places too, and when the chorus comes in, it becomes a bit more gritty with some Britrock tones mixed in with a modern sheen. Hailing from his East London flat, solo artist Greg Zucker delivers the Fading EP under the moniker Land Mass. The EP release doubles up as the first-ever release of any sort under the name Land Mass, and you are greeted with the opener titled "Green Parakeet". It's a very melodic and moving track, focusing a lot on his vocals and a moody acoustic guitar, before you are greeted with a bursting, almost Brit rock guitar at the 40-second point. ... a stunning debut with a genre-spanning EP packed with moody vocals, soaring guitars, and memorable melodies. Following on from the leading track is the really fast-paced offering titled "Trojan Horses". Coming out of New York is the brilliant and stunning SAMSARA., and the band have recently dropped their big new tune, "IN TOO DEEP". The quintet have a sound that can rival any of the big alt-rock bands that are currently dominating the worldwide music scene, and based off this track they're going to be the next big guitar band to emerge from NY since the likes of The Strokes and Interpol. ... based off this track they're going to be the next big guitar band to emerge from NY since the likes of The Strokes and Interpol The pacing of the track is great, and even from the get-go there is a somewhat danceable backline that'll no doubt have you tapping your feet. The guitar sounds on "IN TOO DEEP" are so infectious, a blend of post-punk and alt-rock with the perfect amount of fuzz to give it more depth. Vocally strong too, you have to admire this emerging band for the smooth vocal approach to the track and its clean melodies.
