EP Review... Jumping Ships - Standard Bearer EP

Jumping Ships 2nd official EP is upon us, it has been in my hard-drive for a month now, and I finally think I can do the EP justice, it's so awesome it's not Indie anymore... or is it?

Movers & Shakers:
Any set opening with something such as EP starter 'Movers And Shakers' is bound to attract attention from any self-respecting rock fan. They have left any trace of their humble beginnings and have created a track to fill up the stadiums with music perfect to throw your fist to in pleasure!
Out of 10: 9/10

Bygones:
Starting with the noisy and hard, before letting the quieter moments take charge this track has the band at their full potential. The bridge towards the chorus is such a great point for you to sing along to the track, the chorus isn't too bad with a beat to bang your head to until it starts to hurt!
Out of 10: 8/10

Heart & Hope:
Equal parts surging and urgent rock with a dusting of pop sensibility. This is the track the EP focuses around, having been in the public domain this track is one of their most well known songs, recently featured as our track of the week we knew this would end up being a stomper of a track.
Out of 10: 9/10

Heads Will Role:
The most 'Indie' track on the EP, sparkles of light guitars and soft drumming and stunning vocals start the track off, and the song reaches it's peak really quickly at the chorus and ebbs away into a great ending. They have really found the track to keep on our iPods forever! This one has crashing bass to boot!
Out of 10: 8/10

Broken English:
A quick start suggests some urgency about this track, one for the mosh pit to decide. But I am sure I know what will happen... Not the best on the EP, but not bad by a long shot. It fits more into their older stuff but none the less this is an outstanding song!
Out of 10: 7/10

Talismen:
The heavily effected guitars give an extra uplift in place of the chiming guitars. It's this electronic-sounding element that roots Jumping Ships thoroughly in the present, fleshes out the sound and allows the listener to place it in their surroundings.
Out of 10: 7/10
