EP Review... Seasfire - We Will Wake EP

After much anticipation we've finally got round to listening to Seasfire's début EP, after a string of highly acclaimed demos, a sweet cover of a Lucy Rose track and a stand-alone single, the Bristol based four-piece have unleashed the EP, and boy was it worth the wait!

We Will Wake:
'We Will Wake' is the band at the top of their game, both while performing live and on record. The vocals are as perfect as ever, the bass and drums are in twine with each other and the guitar is also very noticeable with the riffs going on in the background giving this track that added dimension!
Out of 10: 9/10

How Do You Sleep?:
This song reminds me of their earlier stuff, a slow opening start with a guitar and piano chords bouncing off each other. This is typical Seasfire right here, but with a slightly slower tempo compared to the rest of the EP a nice change of pace. After seeing them live I can clearly see why they play this track, it's a winner for sure!
Out of 10: 8/10

You Won't Be:
A track I've been playing a lot on the internet, only once available through a session they recorded with the BBC, and it's great to see them fully record the track and give their older fans a treat. The vocals duelling with each other, the screaming guitar riffs and the pulsating bass, my god have they saved the best for the EP! This track is a big, and a song that I think I'm going to be playing for years to come!
Out of 10: 10/10

Human Sacrifice:
This track in it's original form is completely different compared to the one they've laid down for the EP. With more of an Acpocalyptic-Dance feel rather than a chill out Indie track. However they've kept elements from the demo, for example, when it breaks down into the chorus and the guitar riffs in the background, once again they've made an outstanding track for all generations to swoon over.
Out of 10: 8/10

Undone:
The closing song for the EP and they've easily won us over (they have), this song should, neigh MUST be heard. The song opens with glitchy guitar and drum beats with Josh's vocals coming in to give it that added touch. For me the best bit of the track is the line ...
"And when we're together, I don't have to hide, I'll fuck you slowly all through the night"
As the closing track this gives you a lasting reminder of how big Seasfire are going to be, a massive statement for the band to bounce off, and easily the best song they've ever made in my eyes!

Their rise from early demos to this is amazing, with an album hopefully out in 2013 I can easily see them being a massive name come the end of the next year! We loved the EP, BUY it if you're smart enough!
