Gig Review... Lucy Rose @ The Junction, Cambridge, 15th May 2013

Lucy Rose is one of the kindest female guitarists going, a singer-songwriter that is proving to everyone that you don't need a bad ass attitude to do well in the music industry. Her Cambridge gig was straight after she sold out Shepherds Bush Empire so moving down the scale in venue size was a nice change.

She opened up the gig with "Gamble", after remembering a girl almost crying last time because she didn't play it she thought it would make the fan's day by playing it. Needless to say this set the bench-mark for the rest of the show. Great interaction with the crowd and audience participation. She worked her way through her début album with highlights coming in the shape of "Shiver", "Bikes", "Night Bus" and "Middle Of The Bed".

She had the crowd lapping everything up that she was throwing their way, and she wasn't just going to play album tracks, she even mustered up the courage to showcase four new songs, "Lincoln", "Sheffield" and two new un-named songs (one of which you can check out at the bottom of the post).

With a solid début album behind her, a loyal fanbase and performing fabulous new songs live it seems that she is loving her life right now! She has definitely came a long way since I first saw her live, supporting Morning Parade in Kingston back in 2010, then she was shy, but now she is ready to take on the world! A real testament to hard work!
