For the past six years, a band named The Kabeedies have been in existence. After the departure of a founding member, the arrival of a key new face and a significant shift in musical style; it simply didn’t make sense for the band to exist in the same way any more. The Kabeedies are, for all intents and purposes, dead. However Evan Jones, Rory Hill, Francis Bell and Christian Daniels are, and will continue to be, a band. And from this point on they will be known as ‘Keep Up’.
Keep Up are set to release a new digital EP with Motor Music (Berlin) in September, comprised of three varying yet cohesive songs of simple, hook laden, guitar pop. ‘Ah Tonight’, the lead single, takes the form of an evening narrative sung by Christian Daniels over a wall of guitars, simply asking ‘Is it too much for you?’. ‘New Crowns’ is the telling of an aftermath, the fallout from a situation you see crashing down around you, helplessto change. And ‘Wishbone’ is a fresh experiment in songwriting, arrangement and lyrical exploration, moving the EP into a new direction. Taking influence from artists as wide ranging as Talking Heads, Strange Boys, Crocodiles and Paul Simon. Each track will be accompanied by it’s own unique video, bringing to life the sounds of the release.
