Track of the week... Solomon Grey - Last Century Man

Solomon Grey are a duo consisting of Tom Kingston and Joe Wilson. After a few years writing and producing together in London, Kingston and Wilson left the city behind - first for Ireland’s Atlantic coast, then for the Australian outback– spending almost three years writing, recording and producing their début album. With the début album already in for release this year we're fast becoming obsessed with the duo.

"Last Century Man" is what we're currently spinning here, it also features on the new Kitsuné compilation which is released 24th Feb. The production the two have crafted here is up there with the very best, beautiful vocals at the start of the song combined with some simplistic horns and guitar tones just ease you into a slumber. You can't help but admire the gorgeous track. As the track progresses it evolves with some Alt-J sounding drum patterns and with more and more layers on top the track starts to sound like a SBTRKT track - which in my eyes is a good thing!

They have a headline gig coming up on 27th Feb at The Courtyard near Old Street in London, so if you're free that night you should definitely check them out!
