17 Reasons Why Glastonbury Is Amazing

We all know how much festivals in the UK cost, too fucking much for mediocre line-ups (see Reading & Leeds), but some metropolitan festivals such as Live at Leeds and Dot to Dot and smaller festivals such as Latitude, Y Not, Secret Garden Party all provide value for money.

Glastonbury is still one of the dearest festivals to pay for, but this year it's ONLY £5 more than Reading and from what we can make out, that's good value! Below was list you reasons why you should pop down to Somerset this year and ditch the teenage booze-fest (Reading).

1 - Bands really do play unannounced shows, below is The XX playing the BBC's Introducing Stage in 2013, George Ezra also played it in 2014.

2 - It looks a little bit like this!

3 - Once you're in, you're in, no more pesky security guards stopping you from bringing in cheap cider!

4 - It's massive, literally took me an hour to walk - sober - from one side to the other!

5 - You get to be that smug person to say "I saw them at Glastonbury"

6 - You're a part of history, every year something big happens, every year!

7 - The BBC records everything, so you can put your phone away for the videos, trust me, the beeb can do it!

8 - EE (the phone network operator) provides you a FREE tent to charge your phone up. It's a mad dash to find a charger that fits your phone and it's only 30 minutes worth of juice. But trust me, it's worth the wait! In 2015 there's going to be two tents due to the demand!

9 - Flags, they are everywhere, very useful when you are trying to tell your mates where about you are in relation to them!

10 - The rave that goes on every night at Arcadia, flames a plenty and doesn't stop until sunrise!

11 - It's one of the best atmospheres going! There's such a wide range of music to choose from that there is no such thing as a demographic! 14 year old's with their parents up to the 70+ reminiscing to the good old times in The Park and cabaret stages.

12 - You can look like a twat and get away with it, it's Glastonbury, feel the love!

13 - There's so much choice, but be prepared to make a few cuts from your list as there are a lot of clashes.

14 - You CAN go the whole weekend without seeing even one band!

15 - Sir Bruce Forsyth has even performed there in 2013!

16 - The sunset at the top of the 'Glastonbury hill' (where the sign is) is beautiful!

17 - It's Glastonbury, need I say more?!
