The Weekly Catch-Up (w/e 20th September)

Here it is, the best music that we've blogged about over the past week, we have had some seriously brilliant tunes, but we want to keep it short this week, so pardon it, but please do look at our 'Soundcloud Picks' if you're still in need for new music!

Ben Howard

Ben Howard - Conrad

After touring his stunning début album all over the world, we see him on the brink of releasing his long-awaited follow-up to "Every Kingdom", and now you can check out a brand new song "Conrad". It continues forwards the dark and melodic themes that he begun on his most recent major release "Burgh Island EP" and comeback track "End Of The Affair", you can listen to the track below.

Catfish and the Bottlemen - I Will Never Let You Down

Catfish and the Bottlemen's new album is out now, we've given it a huge push on the site and after you buy it you'll know why. So in support of that the band have popped into BBC Radio 1 to perform a special cover for their 'Live Lounge' segment. You can check out the rocky version of "I Will Never Let You Down", with a brief cover of Modjo's "Lady (Here Me Tonight)", something for the 90's kids here, and something for the 00's lot too, this is seriously fun to listen to!

Hozier - Do I Wanna Know?

Hozier has popped into the BBC's Live Lounge for a very relaxed and delicate cover of Arctic Monkeys' "Do I Wanna Know?" as apart of the radio station's 'more music month'. He also plays a sold out London KOKO on 17th September - scroll on down to check the cover out!

Y.O.U - Heavy Crown (The 1975 Remix)

It looks like the band do not want to be forgotten, with loads of remixes done by them in the past two or so months they're certainly keeping themselves busy! Both artists reside in Manchester and this is a testament to the scene that collaborations are so fruitful, this remix is just brilliant!

Superfood - Mood Bomb

Superfood have unveiled a new song to come off their forthcoming début album "Don't Say That", "Mood Bomb" is once again an upbeat future classic from Birmingham's up and coming quartet.

James Bay - Forever

James Bay has been performing a cover of Haim's "Forever" on BBC Radio One's Live Lounge! See full performance just below! Earlier today James stopped by BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge and performed a cover of Haim’s “Forever”.

Darlia - Stars Are Aligned

We're big fans of Darlia and after getting its first play last night on Radio 1 as Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record In The World, the Blackpool trio are all set to release the crushing new single on October 27th via B-Unique Records. "Stars Are Aligned" continues along the same lines of their other music, massive choruses, big guitar and brilliant drums with smooth bass. It's a radio friendly rock track for the modern ages, crank this up and enjoy!
