Introducing... The Casters

Emerging from Bedford’s increasingly reputable music scene, suave 4 piece The Casters have released the video to their début single "Soon She’ll Go".

The Casters provide a smooth, sophisticated blend of urban indie rock, perhaps a black turtleneck or two away from resembling The XX. With traditional rock tropes in place, a modern element glosses the track with which you can almost feel the room turn to black & white, and a Martini appear in your hand. What struck me most about this track is the use of space. Between the drum rolls, the bass manoeuvres the low end as the guitar pulses, blurring the line between ‘clean’ and ‘dirty’. From the main chorus a psychedelic guitar solo breaks out, bridging the gap to the final choral section, where keys swell as drum machine bursts and even a touch of harp move the track into final territory.

Coupled with the video, which sees the guys suited and booted in a manor as an Audrey Hepburn figure teases (“rolling her own cigarette”), ‘Soon She’ll Go’ demonstrates the groups high standard of quality early on, delivering a track which all-in-all makes for a highly impressive début. With undeniable style and ambitious production, The Casters are destined for exciting things to come. Their 4 track EP – "DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE" is out March 21st.
