Portsmouth's very own trend setters - Glaciers - have a new track out today, and to celebrate we're premiering it on It's All Indie. Their latest cut is called "Rubescent" and it reminds me of Ian Brown of The Stone Roses mixed with elements of Dire Straights, with enough influence from Foals to tickle you pink.
Brad from the band says - "In April we went up to a studio in London to record a couple of songs, one of those songs was "Rubescent", a track we had written a couple of months before hand. It was a song we wrote just by jamming and has a great groove and feel, so to really capture that essence we recorded it live through an old Neve console. The main riff was inspired by Warpaint where as the verses have more of an Everything Everything vibe, I'm not really sure where the rest of it comes from but I feel like this song was a step forward musically for us and helped solidify the ‘art rock’ label we’d given ourselves. Lyrically the song is about connection, passion and love."
You can listen to "Rubescent" below.
