The Jackobins come and hit hard with their latest effort 'Outside'. Growing in personality on this record, I personally think that the level of craft on this record is wonderful. Had a cheeky listen when it was span the other night on BBC INTRO MERSEYSIDE and was instantly lured into the tune with the initial few bars.
This tune manages to find that holy grail of catchy but not dumb for me, something which I have constantly moaned about in the new music we find.
I didn't quite realise it was Dom (lead singer) singing all the way through this but that just shows how much range he has and ability in his voice and I found myself almost leaning into the verses with my ears pricked up, letting the story running through 'Outside' be as important as that synth!
Did someone say record deal? Celebration time in their houses no doubt signing to Zy Records who has some excellent caliber on their books. Jump on this tune when it's released on the 22nd Sept, spread it about like butter, force your friends to listen to it (we've all done it on car journeys! they have nowhere to go and it's your car, your rules, your playlist right?!)
An upcoming tour with 'This Feeling' supporting the mighty The Wholls will be class to see the year out for the boys! Drag yourself out in the ever turning colder weather, have a bounce to 'Outside' and add The Jackobins to all your playlists, it'll be worth it honest.
