With her 2017 single ‘Love Like You’ receiving huge support from both Trevor Nelson and Mistajam upon its release, landing it as BBC Radio 1’s Track Of The Week, Liverpool-born singer Charli Taft has since focused herself on the fresh and vibrant sound of RnB as she returns with her latest single ‘Like Me’.
Sitting somewhere between the retro direction of 90s RnB and the more post-modern aesthetic, ‘Like Me’ is an undeniably stunning mid-tempo bop that preaches self-respect and empowerment throughout. Taking cues from the likes of Ariana Grande and Charli XCX, this new release sees her continue the form she has channelled and developed these last few years.
Speaking about her latest offering, she adds, “The song is all about self respect, feeling empowered and knowing your worth in a relationship. I hope people can vibe along and openly relate to the message behind the lyrics – it’s ok to let the world know you’re a one-in-a million. It’s ok to be confident and just own it.”
