Roi Philosophe releases hazy and psych laced track "E"

Based out of the German city of Leipzig the trio of Roi Philosophe back in June released their hazy and psych laced track "E", which follows on from the trio's 2020 EP "Growing Thoughts II". The EP has since helped get the band close to 40,000 streams on Spotify with the band having their tunes finding their way into several zine playlists such as 'New Dope!'

The trio consisting of Maximilian (Guitar/Bass/Vocals), Lawrence (Lead Vocals/Keys), Alex (Drums/ Percussion) have been releasing music since 2019 - with a demo EP currently out too for you all to listen to, and since then they've developed their sound thanks to the band recording and mixing their new songs in their own home studio - a proper DIY band and you know how much we love those!

So the track, well it's a doozy - a synthy organ opens up the tune with some seductive basslines that suck you in from the start. In comes Lawrence's wavy vocals which hook you in further, it's something that expect you'd find in any surf-pop tune, add in some processional drumming and the track is already layered up for some interesting textures ready for your ears.

As the track develops a dash of psychedelic is draped all over the tune giving it a slightly haunting sound to it, but only as an underlying tone the overall track is bright and equally vibrant. With influences such as Tame Impala, Led Zeppelin and Gorillaz to name a few there really isn't a surprise that they sound the way they do!

It's got that feel that it's one of those bedroom pop tracks that is going to break the mould and get into the masses - if you love Tame Impala, Pond and Unknown Mortal Orchestra then Roi Philosophe may just be the band for you, so why not head down below and listen to "E".
