Keaper share honest new track, "Wasted Light"

Today is a day I've been looking forwards to, it's a new track from a gem of a band based out of Australia. Keaper was formed back in 2019 (before all of the madness happened) and has been working hard at refining their sound.

With inspiration drawn from the likes of guitar-driven acts such as DIIV and The Smashing Pumpkins the Melbourne band have certainly got a great taste in music, and it rubs off on their music too.

The quartet's latest offering track is a delicate offering that showcases what they can do, and sitting in at over five minutes long you're really going to love it after the first listen.

"Wasted Light" has a delicate guitar laced with reverb opening up the tune, backed up with Ameya's soft and warming tones the track already has a lot of body. Come in the rushing drum patterns and airy guitars and we have something that can light up a dark room with its shimmering tones.

This track is one that's close to their heart as it was the very first song the band wrote together after forming and certainly will sound like a set-list center-piece. The quartet's latest offering track is a delicate offering that showcases what they can do, and sitting in at over five minutes long you're really going to love it after the first listen, I know we did - hence why I was excited to finally publish this.

With a DIY ethos, the band is going to be kicking about for a while - and we're glad about that. An honest band who have honest music, something that's rare these days with pop-driven acts springing up everywhere. Keaper, they're a keeper.
