Lissy Taylor reveals anthemic new single "Quiet Rage"

Lissy Taylor has today revealed her anthemic new single "Quiet Rage", which comes backed up with a music video too.

One thing I have to say from the start, it really doesn't sound like she's from Stoke-on-Trent, her vocals sound like they've been forged in the belly of Southern Americana and Country music. There's just something there that keeps us hooked from the start to the very end, especially when Lissy's voice becomes almost angelic in the breakdown in the latter third.

With love from literally anyone worth their salt, I feel many more will fall in line with shouting about one of Stoke's finest voices.

So by this point, we usually start the review, but since the vocals have taken prime billing we are going to talk more about the music that wraps everything all up. Soothing guitars are heard from the outset, almost Bruce Springsteen sounding, before parting ways for some classic Indie-Rock tones of the 2010s coming through to entice you more.

There's a lot of shimmering elements in "Quiet Rage" that make writing this so damn easy, but not as easy as writing it on a cold and rainy night in Stoke. With love from literally anyone worth their salt - BBC Introducing, Clash Mag, and Amazing Radio as some examples - I feel many more will fall in line with shouting about one of Stoke's finest voices.

The single also acts as a teaser for her upcoming EP, due out Summer 2021.
