If you're a fan of dark folk tones with a hint of dream pop then you're in for a treat, Norman Lake has revealed his first track in 2022. Titled "Feel" the song comes off the back of a big 2021 which saw him release an EP and a couple of singles.
"Feel" is incredibly emotive and has folk moments that Ben Howard would to be proud of, there are some licks of piano balanced off with some tender strings which enables the listener to listen to the song without it haunting you. Joey's (aka Norman Lake) vocals are just so powerful which is a huge reason why we liked this track from the first play, and once it's over you'll have his voice lingering in your head, honestly brilliant.
Speaking about the tune Norman Lake mentions - "This song is meant to capture the emotions around a depressive episode without applying a clear narrative or reason for it. I believe this best serves my experience with that form of overwhelming melancholy. My hope is that recognizing how human that sensation is will help those who suffer under it find solace and reach out for company."
